Giveaway: Warm & Natural batting Queen size! (Closed)

I've been holding out on this giveaway for a while--not that I wanted to. I just didn't want to do a giveaway until I could get my comments numbered on blogger! Less work for me when trying to figure out who wins! I finally figured it all out and now I can start doing my giveaways! I have had a couple of wonderful companies willing to provide stuff for me to review and for you to WIN! You'll have to stick around to see about those...

My sincerest thanks goes to the wonderful folks at Warm Company who provided me with batting to review and this great prize to give to you! This batting is absolutely wonderful, and I mean top-notch! Not ALL battings are created equal. I'm sure many of you more experienced quilters know this by now, but not long ago, I didn't think it really mattered because it was just filling, right? Um, wrong! It can totally make or break your quilt, not to mention frustrate you. The Warm & Natural batting is needle punched which means the fibers are held together nicely (without glues or other substances) and they aren't coming apart! If you've ever seen needle felting, it's kind of the same principle. It's like the needle interlocks neighboring fibers together. This process creates a strong batting material, not like that nasty loose polyfill. You won't experience any bearding, shedding, or just all-around "unpleasantness" with this batting. It's almost like a blanket straight out of the package. It's lightweight and oh, so soft! I had no idea how soft battings could be until now. I just wanted to cuddle it, pet it and whisper "my precious..." When it comes to batting, I have learned my lesson: Don't go cheap, go with quality--and if you ask me their battings are just as affordable as they are wonderful! Quality doesn't necessarily mean paying top dollar.

Let the GIVEAWAY begin! (This giveaway is open to everyone. I will ship internationally.)

  6. Fun giveaway!

Glad you figured out how to number comments. I may need your help. I've done it multiple times and "periodically", for no rhyme or reason, they disappear. Actually, I think I changed a layout feature in blogger that caused them to disappear. I definitely need to go back and add the code again. Certainly makes life easier with giveaways.

I'll tweet and share with others on your giveaway.

  12. I've been seriously quilting for almost 2 years. But quilting has been part of my life since I was a toddler- I remember playing under the queen sized quilting frame in the backyard during the summer while the adults quilted.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I've used some polyester, some blends, and some warm company (both the natural and the white). I've liked them all but I haven't been quilting long enough to determine my "One True Batting" yet.

  14. love love love WARM AND NATUREL.

  15. I made my first "quilted object" -- an applique elephant potholder - - in 1970. Shhh....I have not stopped doing quilts and quilted items since! (There is always something new to learn, no matter HOW long you have been doing it!)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I had always used a high or medium loft bonded polyester batting, but when I tried my first little batt of Warm & Natural for some small projects, I was hooked. It is a really high quality product, and SO much easier to deal with if you are machine quilting on a home machine.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I've only been avid quilting/sewing since the summer, but I made my first quilt a LONG time before that.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  26. I remember the quilted elephant potholder, and the happy hum of the sewing machine(s) throughout the rest of my childhoold. I didn't actually piece my first project ( a scrappy block on point pillow) until I was about twenty. It's been off and on since, but now I'm back.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I remember the family used Super Fluff batting in the 70's and beyond, and it was one that "burned the least", which was good for potholders. I remember also that it left an incredible amount of very fine polyester particles all over the table and in the air when we cut it. I hope the W@N sheds less!
