I've been holding out on this giveaway for a while--not that I wanted to. I just didn't want to do a giveaway until I could get my comments numbered on blogger! Less work for me when trying to figure out who wins! I finally figured it all out and now I can start doing my giveaways! I have had a couple of wonderful companies willing to provide stuff for me to review and for you to WIN! You'll have to stick around to see about those...
My sincerest thanks goes to the wonderful folks at Warm Company who provided me with batting to review and this great prize to give to you! This batting is absolutely wonderful, and I mean top-notch! Not ALL battings are created equal. I'm sure many of you more experienced quilters know this by now, but not long ago, I didn't think it really mattered because it was just filling, right? Um, wrong! It can totally make or break your quilt, not to mention frustrate you. The Warm & Natural batting is needle punched which means the fibers are held together nicely (without glues or other substances) and they aren't coming apart! If you've ever seen needle felting, it's kind of the same principle. It's like the needle interlocks neighboring fibers together. This process creates a strong batting material, not like that nasty loose polyfill. You won't experience any bearding, shedding, or just all-around "unpleasantness" with this batting. It's almost like a blanket straight out of the package. It's lightweight and oh, so soft! I had no idea how soft battings could be until now. I just wanted to cuddle it, pet it and whisper "my precious..." When it comes to batting, I have learned my lesson: Don't go cheap, go with quality--and if you ask me their battings are just as affordable as they are wonderful! Quality doesn't necessarily mean paying top dollar.

I also left a comment on the "Gender Neutral" bundle post. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteFun giveaway!
ReplyDeleteGlad you figured out how to number comments. I may need your help. I've done it multiple times and "periodically", for no rhyme or reason, they disappear. Actually, I think I changed a layout feature in blogger that caused them to disappear. I definitely need to go back and add the code again. Certainly makes life easier with giveaways.
I'll tweet and share with others on your giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI've never used this batting - I usually use an 80/20 wadding!
ReplyDeleteI've been quilting for around 15 years!
ReplyDeleteI just signed up to follow using GFC.
ReplyDeleteI like the Warm company on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite batting is Warm and Natural, or Warm and White if the project has a lot of white in it.
ReplyDeleteI first tried quilting about 30 years ago, but got more into it about 15 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new GFC follower- Kylie C.
ReplyDeleteI like the Warm Company on Facebook- Kylie C.
ReplyDeleteI've been seriously quilting for almost 2 years. But quilting has been part of my life since I was a toddler- I remember playing under the queen sized quilting frame in the backyard during the summer while the adults quilted.
ReplyDeleteI've used some polyester, some blends, and some warm company (both the natural and the white). I've liked them all but I haven't been quilting long enough to determine my "One True Batting" yet.
ReplyDeletelove love love WARM AND NATUREL.
ReplyDeleteIt is very easy to use and to quilt by hand or long arm..
Bea
I made my first "quilted object" -- an applique elephant potholder - - in 1970. Shhh....I have not stopped doing quilts and quilted items since! (There is always something new to learn, no matter HOW long you have been doing it!)
ReplyDeleteI had always used a high or medium loft bonded polyester batting, but when I tried my first little batt of Warm & Natural for some small projects, I was hooked. It is a really high quality product, and SO much easier to deal with if you are machine quilting on a home machine.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower!
ReplyDeleteI've only been avid quilting/sewing since the summer, but I made my first quilt a LONG time before that.
ReplyDeleteI use Warm and Natural or Warm and White.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm a brand new follower; I learned about you from Craft Buds.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite batting to use is Warm and White! Warm and Natural is great, too!
ReplyDeleteI have been quilting for exactly three years. Not sure why it took me 53 years to discover quilting, but I love it!
ReplyDeleteI commented on your posts of March 29 and Jan 31.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower, sent her by Catskill Quilter (shh, my mom!;D Cool eh?)
ReplyDeleteI looked through your blog, and I wonder, did you ever find out more about the curved presser foot, or try it?
ReplyDeleteI've been to Warm and Natural's FB page and shown some support!
ReplyDeleteI remember the quilted elephant potholder, and the happy hum of the sewing machine(s) throughout the rest of my childhoold. I didn't actually piece my first project ( a scrappy block on point pillow) until I was about twenty. It's been off and on since, but now I'm back.
ReplyDeleteI remember the family used Super Fluff batting in the 70's and beyond, and it was one that "burned the least", which was good for potholders. I remember also that it left an incredible amount of very fine polyester particles all over the table and in the air when we cut it. I hope the W@N sheds less!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower, thanks so much for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI like Warm Company on FB, thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite batting is Warm & Natural actually!

ReplyDeleteI haven't actually completed any quilts yet! I do have a couple tops done though! So winning this batting would help me with the next step.

I'm in serious 'Like' with Warm Company
ReplyDeleteI really haven't been in the quilting world for long so I've really only stuck with Warm & Natural's Soft and Bright. I like the loftiness and it's great as a beginner to not have to quilt so closely together.
ReplyDeleteI've only been quilting for 2 years, and I haven't been totally consistent with it. I'm addicted for sure, but I have to go with my own flow.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm so loving the gender neutral bundle. The fabric choices are gorgeous and go together so well.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been quilting very long, only for a month or so. I'm very new but it is fun.
ReplyDeleteI've used whatever's been cheapest. I know that's not the best way to go, but since I'm just learning I didn't want to spend way too much at the start in case I didn't like quilting. But now I'm ready to start using higher quality stuff!

ReplyDeleteI love love love Warm and Natural and the fact that they are made in the US :) Tried bamboo battinglast year thinking is was better in that it was organic etc....then I read about all the chemicals used on the "organic bamboo" and YIKES! Now I use Warm and Natural 100 percent!
ReplyDeleteI've been quilting for about 3 years....and years before that if we count "air quilting" (not unlike air guitar!) which is thinking about quilting when not actually having the time to physically quilt.
ReplyDeleteI left a comment under the March 28th post titled " The bundle with the vintage feel".
ReplyDeleteYou can number your comments? I've got to find out how to do that! Went and liked Warm Company, but I'm not really entering because I've got a bolt of their batting in my closet and already know how much I love the stuff!
